Beginner's 4-step guide to buying your first DSLR
How hard can buying a first DSLR be? Well, quite hard. There's a lot to consider when making your purchase, especially as it's a big investment even if they might be considered "entry level" DSLRs. You've got megapixels, lenses, features, ergonomics and quite a bit more to contemplate. Luckily, you can find the graph below to help you deciding your first DSLR camera easier.
Well, let's offer you a helping hand by offering a 4-step guide to help you in your first DSLR purchasing decision. This is assuming that you don't have any lenses from any particular brand already. Obviously, being a 4-step guide, some things won't be covered. This is strictly taking into consideration some of the core features of the DSLRs, so if you're asking "how does the bokeh of the Canon 85mm f/1.2L compare to the Nikon 85mm f/1.4?", then this won't be covered. Each brand has a plethora of wonderful lenses with lots of character, the only way to find out how "good" a lens is, is by finding some examples on some photo hosting websites and thinking whether that suits you. If you want to know how the noise performance of the 550D compares to the D90, then the answer to which DSLR to buy is already at your fingertips.
If you have a higher budget or want to go a little further to the pro, you may choose one level above, such as the Canon 7D, 5D Mark II, or Nikon D300s.
