Sony Ericsson Satio – Carrying Huge Expectations With Elan

Sony Ericsson has introduced a number of advanced, sophisticated and industry leading handsets over the years. The competition was always stiff, and the competitors included mega corporations, old warhorse or those with command over a particular niche of users. In this respect, handsets like C905, W995 and Xperia were indeed worthy of appreciation, serving as a perfect example of the research that has gone into their development. However, the all new handset from the brand, namely the Sony Ericsson Satio is indeed the flagship product to be introduced this year. It looks unlikely that any previous handset from Sony Ericsson had to bear so much pressure, yet it came out with flying colours. In Satio, mobile users received the perfect device to wrap up the year. The next era of mobile technology has begun.

Optimum performance is what sets this handset apart. Where the rest of the handset try to cram more features in them, Satio moves in to a league of its own. A case in point is its camera functionality which is not just 3.5, 5 or even 8 MP but rather an industry leading 12 Mega pixel. State-of-the-art autofocus is there for the company, along with LED and Xenon flash which takes crystal clear shots even under the extremely dim light conditions. The pleasant surprise starts unfolding as soon as you unwrap its compact box. Apart from other accessories, there lays a 8GB microSD card waiting for you. Another good thing is its compactness. Whereas most handsets with such an impressive features set as satio are bulky and too large for the pocket, this one with a 112 x 55 x 13 mm dimensions easily slips in. however, there do exits the extra girth around the lens area, which was only understandable considering its 12 MP camera. The gadget weighs a decent 126 grams as metal body has been done away with the higher quality plastic one, at the same time giving it a solid feel.

The device has most of its front space taken up by a massive 3.5 inches display. The resistive unit with resolution of 640 x 360 pixels supports up to 16 million colours. Vibrant images are displayed on the display which is indeed one of satio's highlights. The incredible brightness coupled with an excellent contrast results in a remarkable picture quality. The battery life is impressive, even though a plethora of features as well as a large display were expected to reduce it, which didn't happened in the end. Another new thing about this is the latest and much improved 5th edition of the Symbian OS. The navigation has been nicely arranged in 5 tabs in the home screen available 'on tap'. The smart accelerometer sensor feature is built-in, which lets you silence the incoming calls by just flipping over the phone.

As with all Sony Ericsson handsets, this one too comes with the best musical experience amongst all brands. Not only can one listen to some outstanding music, but the Now Playing feature allows you to do much much more. Video player is advanced and top quality just like the music, and the camera its prime features. In fact, do not be confused if you find yourself hooked to this feature, as the 12 MP means the very best in the industry- no questions asked. Theres is much more to this handset than what we have discussed here. The list is long and impressive, which was more than expected as with Sony Ericsson Satio the stylish manufacturer is hoping to reclaim its position amongst the elite. If you were looking to buy a handset in this range or segment, then hop on to it without a shadow of a doubt. Take our words, you will not regret it.
